I tend to analyze incidents a little different than most. Sometimes you may agree with me and sometimes you may not. I may hit some nerves or I might spark some motivation. But that never stops me from giving my opinion. So, as for my opinion with the Boston Marathon Bombing today… here you go:
I do not bother with politics or conspiracies. I will not even comment on this possibly being an act of terrorism from Al Qaeda. I will not comment on the 2nd Amendment issue and how it may play into the bombing. I will not comment on the Patriot Act and heightened security measures. Because in my opinion, those are secondary issues. When we get to the very core of the problem, I believe it boils down to individual accountability and the extreme complacency of the general population of America. Throughout my short 10 previous years as a Combat Veteran I’ve been given awkward stares, sarcastic comments and have ended up in many arguments because of “issues” I’ve acquired in combat. Such as hyper-vigilance, a quick startle reflex and wanting to sit in a position where I can see my surroundings clearly to name a few. These “issues” or as I prefer to call them, survival instincts, are what keep me and my loved ones safe. Me and those like me, understand we do not live in Candy Land. We understand evil exists and evil walks among us on a daily basis. Too many people want to turn a blind eye to the realities of our world and want to pretend like all of the bad stuff only happens on TV. I get tired of the same comments that spawn from these incidents. “I can’t believe that happened.” “I never thought it would happen to me.” “I just don’t understand how someone could do this.” Well, when a person lives their life in a bubble of ignorance and complacency, I can see why they would feel that way. It is times like today and all of the other tragedies, that pops the bubbles of those immediately affected. But as with every tragedy, those who have yet to be affected, will continue to live in their bubble. These types of evil actions are going to occur. There is no two ways about it. No matter who is to blame and no matter how many heightened security measures are taken. They will occur. The only way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to be vigilant and aware of your surroundings. This does not mean living in a state of fear. It means living in a state of clarity. A state of understanding and a state of reality. Do not be afraid of evil. Do not cower to it. Stand up and act against it. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist. Once you realize evil exists, and not just on TV or in other countries or ghettos, you can start taking action against it.
Just my random opinion. Take it as you will. Much love to you all, even if you disagree with me.
